Born in New Caledonia, my life as an islander was intertwined with culture and religion. Coming from the Wallisian and Futunian community, and very attached to this link, it was even difficult for me to dissociate these two entities. From birth, I followed the Catholic cursus honorum: I was baptized, then received Holy Communion. But religious life hadn’t stopped me from sinning: lying, cheating, sexual immorality, traditional rites, alcohol and excessive pride. I met Jesus Christ and He gave me the power to renounce myself!
